Siloam Springs, AR - Hunan Village Food Review
3402 US 412, Siloam Springs, AR 72761
Great new building, excellent service.... Hunan Village is located just on the east side of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Located on highway 412 east. Siloam Springs, Arkansas has a rich history dating back to 1835. It became well known for its mineral waters, and soon became the go to destination in the area for its springs "healing properties".
This is their new location, which just opened in January 2010. The new location is a night and day difference from the old one, inside and out. When you walk into their establishment you are greeted immediately. And the décor of the buffet is quite wonderful, clean and inviting. There are beautiful etched glass panels everywhere, and wall decorations that fit the theme very well. The restrooms are clean and well kept. In addition they have an open grill area where the grill chef cooks up beef, pork and chicken.
During the course of being there, the wait staff was on top of our needs. They made sure to clear plates quickly, and stay on top of our drinks. There is nothing more irritating than to go to a buffet and have 6 plates stacked atop each other while the waitress goes by. This was not the case here, and in fact I do not think there was a single time that my drink went below the half way point before getting filled up again. Even though this is a casual dinning buffet, the wait staff all wears uniforms which are very sharp and helps take the dinning experience up a notch from the average buffet. I have talked numerous times about how important attentive service is to making me decide to come back again, and this food establishment scores 10 out of 10 in this area.
The food fare is what you would expect at an Asian buffet, and in fact they have quite a large selection of dishes. We sampled the grilled flank steak, chicken and pork. And they were delicious, very well cooked and tender. In addition we sampled the vegetable fried rice, shrimp and vegetables, salt garlic shrimp, and vegetable rice noodles. The only complaint we had was the fried rice was a bit on the dry side. Also they do serve sushi, but there is only a selection of one type at this time. We have been told that they are looking at adding to the menu overall, which includes the sushi. Beyond that, all of the other food we sampled was very good. We will definitely be going back to this establishment as often as possible.
Overall, our experience at this buffet was very good. The beautiful interior of the establishment along with the superb service that was provided by the wait staff will keep you coming back for more. The price to value is there, whether you are just going by yourself for a quick lunch, or taking the whole family out for a nice dinner.
