Michael and team have done a really great job with Fresco.
They have had their bumps in the road but I have to say that I am very
impressed with where this restaurant has gone.
The facility is always clean. The food is spot on and in
fact I think they are the only place around offering Truffle fries.
Give their salads a try, they are fresh with homemade
dressings being offered. And don't forget to grab an appetizer of their spicy
On their facebook page they describe themselves as; full
service, fast casual dining that serves delicious sandwiches, panini's, flat
bread pizza's, dinner entree's, soups and salads.
But what their facebook page can not adequately portray to
you is just how good the food actually is, and I have to say that so far I have
not been disappointed. I have had the chance to interact with the owners,
Michael and Dustin, and the one thing I can tell you is that they do have a
passion for providing us area foodie's a really great experience. And they embrace
constructive criticism and adjust what they are doing accordingly.
They are located on Center Street,
just off the square. In the same building as Bliss Cupcakes and just down from
David Adams Fine Jewelry.
The interior seats approximately 75 people, and they also
have a patio area that seats around the same amount.
It is very roomy, and the interior build out is nice. The
interior décor is vibrant with a contemporary feel to it.
There is seating at the bar, as well as bench seating and
two areas with love seats and tables. It has always been clean during any of my
visits there, you can tell the staff take pride in their facility.
They also have a dance floor, and in the late evenings they
change to "Club Lush" giving folks the opportunity to "cut a
rug". I might be in trouble now, does saying "cut a rug" date
So, what about the food you ask?
Well the one thing I can tell you for sure is that they do
have a passion for food, and so far I have really enjoyed what I have tried
there. In addition, the staff asks for feed back about the dishes, and what
feed back I have provided they have taken to the back of house.
Now this is a great sandwich, and the fresh chips are a
This sandwich consists of oven roasted chicken topped with
fresh baby spinach, fresh mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes with a roasted garlic
aoli on a sourdough panini.
The overall flavor of this sandwich is really good, and the
chicken was very moist.
This is one I will be eating again soon!
Another delightful sandwich which I will be ordering again
This sandwich consists of garden fresh heirloom tomatoes,
fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, aged balsamic on a crispy ciabatta that is
brushed with garlic infused olive oil.
And the flavors on this sandwich were spot on, the basil
pesto adding just the right touch!
So, it is a cold fall day which seems to be inevitably
sliding faster and faster into winter. What warms you up from the inside out?
Well for me, it is a nice bowl of clam chowder. Now since I
am not on the east coast, my expectations aren't normally all that high for
this dish in Arkansas.
But I have to tell you they really do a good job on this
one. A very hearty "base" that is rich and flavorful. And there is
lots of great clam bits through out the chowder.
This one is a winner and I will be ordering it again!
For their appetizers they offer; Bruschetta, fried risotto
and mozzarella medallions in marinara and meatballs in marinara. All of which
you can order individually.
Or you can opt for their "triple play" which gives
you a sampling of each, which is what i ordered this go around.
My personal favorite of the three is the fried risotto and
The marinara sauce is made from scratch here and has just a
touch of basil which adds just perfectly to the taste profile.
Another really great soup for a nice cold day is Minestrone.
And the key to a really good Minestrone soup is in the freshness of the
And the ingredients they use are fresh, which comes through
in the taste.
So for those of you who love a good Minestrone soup, give
this one a try.
Pumpkin Creme Brulee
I have lost count to how many "foodie kryptonites"
I have, but I can tell you for sure that a good creme brulee is one of them.
When I heard they were serving a "pumpkin" creme
brulee, I have to be honest and tell you I was skeptical.
But it works! And works nicely. Now I have to tell you, the
pumpkin is from the can, so that is the only "downside" to this one.
