Our forum rules are very simple. Be respectful of others! If you are not, your account may be placed in suspension or deleted all together. These forums are here primarily for the discussion of food, and food related topics for NWA and the surrounding areas. There are also some areas for just general topic discussion (off food topic).
Links to nudity, pornography or other objectionable content is prohibited. All such content will be deleted and the associated account will be banned from our site. In addition, we are not a "link farm". And, there are areas that are devoted to the promotion of businesses in Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding areas, please do not post about businesses outside of those regions (most especially outside of the state of Arkansas or outside of the United States of America, if they have offices in Northwest Arkansas or the surrounding regions, that is ok). Also, do not post links or information pertaining to political content.
Advertising on the forums
Our forums are not here specifically for businesses to promote themselves. Now with that said, we have added a "Plug-A-Business" section to our site. So if you are the owner, manager or customer of a business in the Northwest Arkansas region, surrounding regions or even the River Valley region, feel free to post up an introduction. Go here to say hello: http://www.nowthatscookin.com/?q=forum/94
We just do not want our forums spammed with advertisements, but do not mind the occassional plug. Part of what our site is trying to do, is help promote local food establishments and other businesses. As we feel it is important to promote keeping our dollars local, and supporting our local small business owners.
If you do use our sites "free promotions" (i.e. special events listings, forums, etc...) to promote your business, please think about donating to our site once in awhile. We do accept in-kind donations, as well as monetary donations. For more information you can email us at support@nowthatscookin.com
If you represent a business in NWA or the surrounding regions, feel free to friend us on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/nowthatscookin as we allow local dining establishments to post information about their establishment on our FB page. All we ask is that you do not "spam" our FB page. In addition, make sure to follow us on twitter, we do follow back! http://www.twitter.com/nowthatscookin
Forums Usage
JOB LISTINGS
We allow local food industry employers the opportunity to post up information about job openings, for our viewers. We do NOT charge for this service. This is just another way we are trying to help the local community. We know how hard it is for local employers to find good workers and just how tight their advertising dollars are to come by, and want to do our part to help you out. And conversly, we know there are a lot of dependable and hard working individuals out there looking for work, so to that end we allow access to our job listings at no charge. Job seekers are not even required to create a "user account" on the site to view the ads, they are open to anyone to view!
RECIPES
Another feature of the forums is to allow the free dispersal of recipes from one user to another. What we do ask is that if you are sharing a recipe from an source other than yourself, that you try to give credit where credit is due.
If the recipe is from another site, please make sure to post a link to the page you copied the recipe from to give them due credit.
RESTAURANT REVIEWS
Feel free to post information about local dining establishments, that is part of why the forums are here. What we do ask is that you do your best to keep the review impartial and concise to the facts. If you take the time to think through your post, there should be no issues.
We do reserve the right to delete posts that we deem to be inflammatory, if we feel the post was made just out of "spite". We do not expect all reviews to be rosey and wonderful, in fact part of why we set this area up is so that local diners can get a good feel of places to go, and places to avoid.
If you are the owner, manager or employee of a dining establishment, feel free to comment on any posts you find about your business. We do expect everyone to follow the golden rule of - treat people nice. So please, when addressing a bad review, keep all comments civil.
SPECIAL EVENTS / CHARITABLE EVENTS
If you know of a food related special event, or are the event coordinator, feel free to post up information in relation to the event. In addition, we would strongly suggest you contact us with your event information so that we can include it on our special events section of the wesbsite. We do this at NO CHARGE!
Just a few examples of special events; charity dinners, food drives, wine tastings, farmers markets, cheese tastings, restaurant openings, and more...
The most important thing to remember
