About the Show

The Food Network website described last season as;

Amazing chefs across the country are leaving traditional restaurants
behind and hitting the streets in mobile kitchens serving some of the
most unique and delicious dishes ever tasted.

Hosted by Tyler Florence, The Great Food Truck Race returns
for season 2 and features eight gourmet food trucks as they embark
on an epic coast-to-coast culinary road trip to convince Americans
to step outside their culinary comfort zones and try something new.

From out-of-the-box sandwiches, burgers, and tacos to unique
takes on Vietnamese, French, and Cuban cuisines, the trucks
compete in weekly challenges to see who can sell the most food
and race to the next episode while the losing team drives home.
The last truck standing wins $100,000

Fayetteville, Here They Come!

According to one of our facebook friends Maudie Schmitt,
owner of Cafe Rue Orleans, here is the scoop on their visit
to Fayetteville;

9 hours ago near Marche, AR via mobile

Ok so here's the Food Truck scoop... They will be serving
on Dickson St. Tonight after dark. Tomorrow morning at the

farmers market. Afternoon at Evelyn Hills Shopping Center.
Tomorrow night back on Dickson. Try to welcome these
guys whenever you can. This is EPIC for Fayetteville.

Thanks Maudie for the heads up!

What Does This Do for Fayetteville and NWA?

In my very humble opinion, Northwest Arkansas has a
wonderfully vibrant foodie scene.

And Fayetteville has the potential to become the leader of
the pack for this area, giving Little Rock and Fort Smith a
run for their money in regards to diversity and quality.

So to me, this gives Fayetteville some well deserved
attention in the culinary spot light. And talk about a lot of
just plain ole FUN!

As Maudie mentioned, let's make sure to give Food
Network and the participants a big ole NWA welcome!

I will be out Saturday and Sunday reporting on the filming
and goings on, so keep your eyes open for updates.

In addition, I will be uploading hi-res photos to our photo

About Season 3

As most networks are, Food Network is tight lipped about
a show being filmed and in progress. And I do not want to
give you all any spoilers, so here is what I have garnered from
the web so far without any spoilers;

(from Food Network's press release, March 2012)

The Great Food Truck Race's third outing will have more
drama, more twists, more strategy, but most of all, more
dreams. Hosted again by Tyler Florence, this season's not
a competition between current food truck operators - it's
between people who desperately want to be.

Eight teams of hopefuls will have their dream truck handed
to them before they race from city to city trying to prove
they have what it takes to own and operate a successful
food truck, with the winning team will get to keep their
truck and immediately launch their food empire.

(the following info was found at

The starting trucks are:

Nonna's Kitchenette, Seoul Sausage, Barbie Babes,
Pop-a-Waffle, Momma's Grizzly Grub, Pizza Mike's
and Coast of Atlanta.
